In Bishkek, the Forum of Central Asia was held to discuss the role of youth in building peace

On May 22-23, the Forum of Central Asia was held at the "Ala-Archa" State Residence to discuss the role of youth in building peace on the basis of resolution of the UNO Security Council.
Representatives of government agencies working in the field of youth, youth policy, as well as representatives of non-governmental youth organizations of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan attended the forum.
The main function of the forum is to familiarize with the UN Security Council Resolution 2250 and discuss the current situation regarding youth and peacebuilding in the countries of Central Asia.
In his welcome speech, the director of the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports, Kanat Amankulov, noted the importance of UN Security Council resolution 2250, as well as the importance of holding this forum.
Resolution 2250 – "Youth, Peace and Security" is the first document that recognizes the important and special role of young people in the maintenance and promotion of international peace and security.
"This meeting serves as a platform for dialogue and strengthening of cooperation of Central Asian countries on youth in peacekeeping activities, including humanitarian response and training", – said Kanat Amankulov.
